Small Rural Infrastructure Development

Small Rural Infrastructure Development

BEES started implementation of its Housing Project for rural poor with the financial support of Bangladesh Bank aiming to promote low-cost housing ensuring a direct impact on welfare of the extreme poor. Since 1979, BEES has undertaken and successfully completed several rehabilitation projects in different disaster affected areas. Under this component houses, tubewells, latrines roads, etc have been made and handed over among the disaster-affected families. This component has so far helped building of more than 455 tin-shed houses along with hygienic latrines and a huge number of tubewells for the cyclone affected people while it has repaired about 15 kms rural kancha (made of mud) roads under the food for work program in the flood affected areas.
